Puzzle Description:

Mr. Polar Bear diving into the icy waters of Hudson Bay. He's not cold though. I am! He can maintain body temperature of 98.6 F even when the air temperature drops to -34 F (-37C).

The fur of polar bears looks white, but it is actually transparent. Polar bears have black skin under which there is a layer of fat that can measure 4.5 inches (11.5 centimeters) thick. But it is their fur, not their fat, that prevent bears from suffering nearly any heat loss. In fact, adult males quickly overheat when they run.

Teresa this is an excellent puzzle! Thanks!
I was so hoping for a polar bear. At the Central Park Zoo there is one you can see, just like this swimming underwater. For some reason I imagine you were going to do it from behind and was disappointed when the "tushy" seemed impossible... Then voila, the face showed up.

he looks at you, T. He seems to be surprised to see you in the cold water ...)))

Thanks, Jota. I designed it to solve that way. :-)

Kai, you will never find me in cold water. But I often manage to get myself into hot water. :-D

Gorgeous Teresa, I love polar bears. I didn't know what it was going to be till I was almost finished, good luck and thank you :)

Wonderful puzzle. I sat while I waited for the finished puzzle to autosave and the image just popped out at me. Love it!

There are few circumstances in nature where I would want to witness this scene first hand, however.
