What a beautiful clown fish Kai-Uwe, gorgeous puzzle, well done and good luck :)
Yeah, I too had a laugh at your comment about puzzle numbers popping up, so funny, like who cares if one of the same image was done before, and who would go through the whole site to find the puzzle numbers, how many of similar images will be done on this site, Im sure they are not exact copies anyways, and it's always nice to have a different perspective of the same image to solve now and again. So don't you worry about that :)
#6: Aldege Cholette (aldege) on Sep 10, 2011 [SPOILER]
Just to add further to Marie-Louise's comment, exactly who cares? I have yet to see anyone here who has complained or said anything to anyone who has made a puzzle that could be considered copying others.Comments have been directed my way by other people but not by the person who made the puzzle, and what is the point of bringing these puzzle numbers to our attention, all we do is ignore it.The time spent on researching this could be better spent on nice comments of puzzles or even creating puzzles for us all to enjoy.

Nice image. Not too easy or too hard, and it challenged me but I didn't get stuck. I kept thinking of Finding Nemo. :)

And just cause I feel like putting in my two cents worth: The way I look at listing the puzzle numbers is that, if I liked the image/object, I can find others that I might like as well. For instance, I might enjoy solving a puzzle of Elvis, and really appreciate Adam letting me know where else I can find puzzles of Elvis. Alternatively, if I didn't like the way an object was drawn, I can find different representations. What I enjoy about the puzzles is the challenge of solving and the satisfaction of the final image, not necessarily the uniqueness of the object. Additionally, if I'm the creator of the puzzle, I might solve those other puzzles (or at least look at the solution) so I can see how other people have drawn the same object, and get ideas on how to vary or improve my style or technique. I doubt that Adam is trying to insult the creators or call them copycats or unoriginal, but regardless, I appreciate his lists of puzzle numbers, and I'm very impressed at his knowledge of the puzzles on this site. Okay, I'm done. :)

The first time he did it to one of my puzzles, I was hurt and saddened that he thought my puzzle was so bad that he had to refer solvers to better examples of the subject matter.

It didn't take me long to realize that this is something pathological that Adam does with everyone. Now I'm just (mildly) offended when he leaves off one of my puzzles. :D

Way long time ago, I had asked, no, begged, for a way to search the description to see how many puzzles had already been done on a certain subject, so that I would not repeat it, or at least do a different rendition than had been done before. Because Jan was not able to let us search the description field, I was very happy to see Adam use his special talent to give us the numbers of the other puzzles.

He doesn't say "ho hum, this has been done so many times before" (except for flags and hearts and such). So I don't think he means anything personal by listing the numbers.

Some people may read it as an insult. I don't.

Thank you Diana and Teresa. You both have it spot on. Kristen, I am glad you finally figured everything out. :-) And of course I am sorry I have left off some of your (and anyone else's for that matter) puzzles at times. It's not like I have a complete list of every puzzle ever created on this site, but that would actually be quite impressive.
