gotta watch out for those puzzlers...i was at a family christmas/reunion and one of the games they had for us all to play was to find as many 2+ letter anagrams as we could with a 2 minute time limit for the phrase "Merry Christmas". i won by scribbling down somewhere around 90 words. somebody asked me if i thought i got most of them and i told them that it was all about the time limit, because i wouldn't be surprised if there were somewhere in the range of 700 to 1000 answers. i love those kinds of games.

Back about 15-20 years ago, this was one of my favorite timesinks. I'd get a long word or short phrase and then start filling up the page with its derivatives. (I was very organized about it with columns for each letter and symbols for common suffixes and any names and other exclusions were counted separately.) Somewhere I probably have a notebook half filled with them.
