We have a ritual. Leo jumps up on the bed, when I'm in it, and stares at the covers. I lift them up so he can go exploring. He turns away and lies down by my head. After a minute or so, he gets up and looks at the covers again. This time, when I lift the covers, he strolls into the cave. I keep my knee raised to form a tent and he walks around. Sometimes, he decides to settle in and he will rest his head on my leg and take a snooze.

Claudia - do you mean "cat-nap" Just an expression. A person taking a "cat-nap" means they take a little nap during the day like a cat does. Cats take naps all the time and then seem to sleep longer during the night. The puzzle title/description is just me being silly, saying that sleeping so much can tire a cat out so it has to sleep more. Annalivia, the cats don't have their own beds and pillows, just their blankies. Our cats aren't allowed in the bedroom.

Thanks Sarah. There are six cats at home now: 12 y/o Chichita, her three 5 months old sons, and two more that were born yesterday. Yes, she will be sterilized after this one! Poor Chichita, this must have been her 20th time!

Claudia, we have 5 indoor cats. The oldest was living in the barn when we moved in. As she was wild, it took several years before we could bring her inside. SHe's probably 10 or 11. We still can't pick her up so she's never been to the vet. She has had lots of kittens, just like your Chichita. I know just how you feel. There's a saying "One cat becomes 10 cats, 10 cats become 100 cats". I'm sure the kittens are so sweet, though.

Felines are trying to perfect the art of cat-napping. Perfection takes lots of practice.

I'm reading this after a long time. Chichita died unexpectedly one month after this post. We still miss her.

Until I finished, I thought I was doing a window and the punchline was something about looking out the window all day is exhausting... :-)
