Sarah: my husband takes me, or I walk. This is a small city and everything is within a five or ten minutes walk.#11: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Mar 10, 2011
Claudia, here, there is nothing for 10 miles - then just the basics; 30 miles to a larger variety of stores. At my Grandmother's in England, we would walk only a few blocks to go to the open food market, buy food for dinner, and have tea at a little tea shop before heading home. Everything was right there. It was wonderful.#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 10, 2011
Manhattan is like that, but otherwise in the States, you have to live in either a very very small town, or else a very very large city to have everything you need within walking distance.#13: Claudia (clau_bolson) on Aug 25, 2011 [SPOILER]
I live in a little city in Patagonia. Not everyone is near the city's center, but I do, yet it is a very quiet neighborhood.#14: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Mar 8, 2018
I am: 8 blocks from work, 4 blocks from the supermarket, 3 blocks from the gas station, 3 blocks from my doctor, 6 blocks to the vet. Nothing more to do here.
Thought it had to do with coffee.#15: Brash Ataom (BRASH) on Apr 20, 2020
