Puzzle Description:

Over or under, why would I care? Just as long as the t.p. is there.

#5: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Feb 24, 2011
And poetry too! .... over for me, but you can't see, that i don't use it when i pee :D
#6: Billie Patterson (bpat) on Feb 24, 2011
Over. Especially if you've got one of those in-the-wall tp holders -- keeps the paper from getting jammed up in it.
#7: Ron Jacobson (shmily999) on Feb 24, 2011
Totally Priceless. OVER!
#8: Shirlej Martin (Shirlej) on Feb 24, 2011
LReally fun pic!!! :-) I read an article that said that men tend to put it under and women over... don't remember why though!!!
Over!!!! :-)
Thanks for giving me a big smile!!! :-)

#11: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Feb 24, 2011 [SPOILER]
Over, too! Hey, do you think we all say over because over is the logical choice? I do find it curious that so far all of us agree upon over. Do we have no undies among us?
#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 24, 2011
Under is icky.
#13: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Feb 24, 2011
my mother (90 yr) has it in the under position
#14: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Feb 24, 2011

Under. Because when you tear the paper off, the weight of the roll offers resistance and makes it an easier one-handed operation. But, I wouldn't let a relationship hinge on it.
#18: Wombat (wombatilim) on Feb 24, 2011
The most compelling argument for "under" I've heard is so it won't completely unroll when the cat starts batting at it.

Otherwise I'm an "over" person.
#19: Ellen Vollor (evollor) on Feb 24, 2011
Over. And cdprhys, I still do my floors on my hands and knees, also. I can't stand the streaks of dirt left behind by a mop. I like skweedle's explanation of the "under" theory, but my question is "where is your other hand?" LOL
#20: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Feb 24, 2011
haha!
#21: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Feb 25, 2011
hey... at least this group uses t.p.
#22: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Feb 25, 2011
I can't believe all the overs - I have always been an under myself because it seems to be easier to find the end. I like the theory about the cat. Great puzzle idea Sarah
#23: Robert Shields (skweedle) on Feb 25, 2011
Ellen -Typing the answer to your question.
And, as far as my cats go, if they can get at it, the whole roll is gone.
#24: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Feb 25, 2011
great comments. lol Tom. Skweedle, only on webPBN, would science be applied to toilet paper lol(# 17). Wombat and Skweedle --so true about cats!
#25: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Feb 25, 2011
I agree with your initial poem Sarah, over, under, I don't care. It just peeves me when the last person who uses the roll leaves one little scrap of paper on it...this way it's technically not completely used up and therefore it doesn't need to be changed!!!
#26: Jane Doe (telly) on Feb 25, 2011
totally agree with the last part Carol.
but definitely OVER for me!
#27: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Feb 25, 2011
I had a cat who would unroll the entire roll if it was over so during the time of Summerset I was an under guy but after he passed out of my life I went back to over.

btw he also liked to play fetch.
#28: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Feb 26, 2011
kinda like the salt shaker, Carol?
#29: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Feb 26, 2011
Yep, or the last sip of milk, etc....
#30: Jota (jota) on Feb 26, 2011
As far as the T.P. goes, OVER always! On other subjects, it depends on the mood and circumstances ... You guys are all so much fun! And this puzzle is fantastic!
#31: Ellen Vollor (evollor) on Feb 26, 2011
Since my husband and I have been empty nesters, there are no more "empty" rolls, or milk, or salt shakers, or half a**ed shoveling, or washed dishes....etc.... We are just the happiest couple in the world! And thanks, skweedle. I like your answer!
#32: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 14, 2011
Over! Funny poem, Tom. Ellen, I'm with you on the joys of an empty nest!
#33: sbs1949 (sylviasnipes) on Feb 13, 2012
Over!! to remember it is "Roll Over"
#34: Beth Briggs (YodaTrophy) on Mar 27, 2012
Over here!
#35: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Apr 20, 2013 [SPOILER]
Under is not necessarily proof against kitties.

And any paper on a roll is vulnerable.

#36: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Apr 21, 2013
I miss Sarah
#37: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Sep 2, 2020 [SPOILER]
Over. If you don't want your kitty to roll it out, just squeeze the tube before you put it on. Of course that makes a lumpy unroll when YOU want it, but ...
#38: Kathryn Shattuck (Logiclover) on Sep 3, 2021 [SPOILER]
If you look at the patent for the first toilet paper holder it is drawn with the toilet paper hanging over! Regardless of what people do, the original intention is clear.
#39: Jill Tallmer (Yidl) on Aug 17, 2022
Hilarious
