i got 3/4 of the way through and got stuck

Beautiful, graceful image.
As for guessing, sometimes what constitutes a guess is obvious. But other times, it seems like the bits of logic accumulate and tell me "no, not there" or "yeah, probably that one," and it's not totally conscious/cognitive (for lack of a better word). And sometimes those bits of logic are the edge logic and other types that people talk about, and sometimes it's just the flow of the image.
Anyhow, good solve!
