I feel the same way. And we have the same things to do except I have no timesheet (self employed)! I've been in slow motion for a couple weeks. Maybe we need sleep and then a walk in the sunlight when we awake.

ps. loved the image though I was too dumb to figure out the carrot was "on a stick."

:-)

I can make resolutions easily. I just have a hard time keeping them. But I'm not alone. Here's a report I found on the Internet:

Many people have trouble sticking to their resolutions, and there is a simple scientific explanation for this. In 1987, a team of psychologists conducted a study in which they monitored the New Year's resolutions of 275 people. After one week, the psychologists found that 92 percent of the people were keeping their resolutions; after two weeks, we have no idea what happened, because the psychologists had quit monitoring.

"We just lost our motivation," they reported. "Also, we found ourselves eating Twinkies by the case."

Actually, that "report" was from a newspaper column by Dave Barry. :-D

so you are saying to NOT have motivation as a resolution this year?
#6: Teresa K (fasstar) on Dec 31, 2010
I'm saying that I don't have it. (The I was implied in the title, but maybe note as obvious to everyone as I thought it would be.) If you have it, tell me where you got it, cuz I need some. Where's my chocolate? :-)

too too clever! love it. i asked my friend if she had any new year's resolutions and she said, "yes, i'm giving up new year's resolutions." true story.

i made my comment based on the titles of your other new years resolution puzzles which were all basically commands so i thought this was going to be the same
#9: Teresa K (fasstar) on Dec 31, 2010
Yeah, I figured that out, bugaboo. But it is clear what I meant when you read the description, no?

Come to think of it, maybe I should resolve to not be motivated, since telling myself to get motivated sure isn't working. :-)
#10: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Dec 31, 2010
i know what you meant but it just didnt fit the pattern you had established with your titles (and that you have continued to establish even after the fact)

Good luck Teresa in finding that motivation! I made a resolution that in the New Year I would have time to do important things like be with family so I retired - not sure if that will work for you!?!?
#12: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 1, 2011
Oh, retirement. Such a nice word. I'll be there in a few years, 3 or 4. Yeah!

Bugaboo, should I change the title? I just don't feel... motivated to do that. :-)

First of all I though since you didn't have it you were going to grow it and I was going to tell you that's illegal.

On a serious note, do just one little thing today, perhaps the shoes in the closet, that will start you and make you feel some sense of accomplishment, the you go onto the next little thing and so on and soon you'll be motivated. It's in you, but to find it you need to start with baby steps, instead of long overwhelming lists of things to do.
Good Luck!

Jota, your suggestion worked. I organized my shoes in the closet and did two loads of laundry, as soon as I read your note. Yeah! Thanks!

Tomorrow another little thing and keep me posted.

LOL Kristen - that does sound more like something I would say, doesn't it? Actually, I would never want to deprive someone from having one drink on New Year's Eve, if they don't have any (ANY) problems being tempted to have more than one. And of course, if you are a sexually active woman who could possibly be pregnant ( you can't depend on one form of birth control, it's not that effective).

BTW, I still am not very self motivated. Maybe the message in the title is a subtle way of telling myself to not be motivated? Hmmm.
