Puzzle Description:

Kindle? It's the only item on my Christmas list. The white on top is supposed to be the Amazon smile.

#11: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Dec 23, 2010 [SPOILER]
A Kindle, eh? I thought I was looking out a castle window at a passing starship Enterprise.
#12: Teresa K (fasstar) on Dec 23, 2010 [SPOILER]
I hope your get your Kindle, Sarah. I'm with Jota, I love the feel of the pages of a real book. And the dog ears, and the colorful covers, even when worn, and the wrinkled spines lined up on my bookshelf.

But what I've been enjoying lately is books on CD that I listen to in the car.

BTW, I enjoyed your puzzle.
#13: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Dec 23, 2010 [SPOILER]
We download audio books to an ipod that we can plug in to the car stereo system. Really makes the time go faster on long car trips.
#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Dec 23, 2010
That's a great idea, Joel. What size file is a typical audio book? How long does it take to download?
#15: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Dec 23, 2010 [SPOILER]
John, I wish I had made a castle window and a starship Enterprise. That is quite a compelling combination.

I love books and CD books. My Mom is a librarian so books have always been a large part of my life. I rent books through Booksfree -- like Netflix - only books instead of movies -- because we don't have a library here.

#16: Tom Siebert (tsiebert) on Dec 24, 2010 [HINT]
I'm with the book lovers here. Give me paper anyday. I have zero interest in an e-book reader of any brand.
#17: Joel Lynn (furface1) on Dec 24, 2010
Teresa, the largest file I have so far is 124 MB. Large books are split up into parts. It takes 10-15 minutes to download a part to my computer and then transfer to the ipod. Note that you need an audio input jack in your car to play through your car speakers. Otherwise you have to buy a device that's a low-power FM radio transmitter that the ipod plays through. You set your car radio to a frequency that's all static, and set the transmitter to the same frequency. On long trips you may need to change the frequency setting periodically, because you may enter an area with a radio station using your selected frequency.

My only other non-work activity (other than PBN) is reading. I prefer hard cover novels and read about 2 per week. I have to go look up Kindle now
#19: Byrdie (byrdie) on Dec 29, 2010 [SPOILER]
I work for a paper company. Guess where my heart lies ...
<smile>
#20: Leimamo Kubo (leimamo) on Feb 2, 2011
Hope you got the Kindle. I have one and I love it. Great for trips and a lot easier to read in bed than those hard cover 600 page books.
#21: Sarah Andrews (sarah) on Feb 3, 2011
I did get the Kindle. I love it too. I like how you can change the size of the font so it's easier to read plus it is much easier to hold than books.
#22: Lilly Johns (LJohns315) on May 26, 2011 [SPOILER]
Kindle sounds nice. Fun puzzle.
#23: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jan 7, 2018
