#3: Billie Patterson (bpat) on Jan 4, 2011
I finally decided on meandering river with small islands midstream. That was after considering a spotted snake and a diseased colon.
#4: mary kay (mkmouse) on Jan 4, 2011
i'g going with snake.
#5: John Macdonald (perlwolf) on Jan 4, 2011 [SPOILER]
A mountain switchback road, that has a dotted passing zone even around the corners. :-)
#6: susan doe (sudoe) on Jan 4, 2011
Always water. At first, I thought it was impressionistic- like "water Lilies" and decided at the end it was moving water.
#7: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Jan 4, 2011
i thought snake
#8: Kylie :) (misty) on Jan 4, 2011

Tentacle. Definitely an octopus tentacle.
#13: Amy Can (hannahkin) on Jan 5, 2011 [SPOILER]
Salmon spawning. Or a potholed road.
#14: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Jan 5, 2011
I saw waves coming into a beach. Nice challenge
#15: brother john (bigcat) on Jan 5, 2011
the Grand River Raft Race
#16: Ellen Vollor (evollor) on Jan 5, 2011
I was looking at the Gulf of Mexico and the oil spill moving along the waterways. How morose!
#17: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Jan 5, 2011
small intestine?
#18: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Jan 5, 2011
pot holes.
#19: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 7, 2011
A closeup of the last piece of spaghetti on the plate, with little bits of sauce still stuck to it. Oops, here comes the dog - Slurp! It's gone, and now the plate is clean.

Very enjoyable solve.
#20: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Jan 7, 2011
Now you can just put the plate back in the cupboard.
#21: chuck combs (domjat) on Jan 13, 2011
I first saw a winding river with barges on it.
#22: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 14, 2011 [SPOILER]
dalmation's tail
#23: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Jul 7, 2011 [SPOILER]
I saw a river in the summer with the rocks sticking out. Not that we've seen too many rocks this summer with all the rain.
#24: Bryan (Cyclone) on Jan 2, 2014 [SPOILER]
Clearly this is a picture of the mighty Jan at his computer coding some new feature for WebPBN. *g*
#25: Thales (shoseyov) on Mar 3, 2014 [SPOILER]
Road
#26: S Stahl (sastahl) on Feb 14, 2017 [SPOILER]
I'll bring this one back to life. As I was doing it, I kept hoping that it would be DNA.
#27: Velma Warren (Shiro) on Aug 4, 2018
whatever
#28: Linda Fox-Gilbert (ChirGi) on Dec 25, 2020 [SPOILER]
Until laying nearly the last brick in the sinuous design, with floating "islands" or ripples, I saw a face from left edge. Mouth in col 4, eyes in col 6, long ears toward right. With the last squares filled in, the river or root or tentacle dominated my attention. So, a water sprite, perhaps.
#29: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jan 4, 2021
something very poetic about that first sentence linda
#30: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jan 21, 2024 [HINT] [SPOILER]
A curving road.

The helper is very interesting here -- it solves things grudgingly, possibly due to the relatively sparse design. But I like these kinds of puzzles--I only want to do so much busy work, and I want to see the images--and I like this image and what other people saw in it too.
