We were living on a a military base. Someone saw the kids jumping out the second window onto the trampoline and called the military police. The parents who owned the trampoline weren't home and all the kids were too young to be alone. The mother was Korean and it is part of Korean culture to leave even young kids at home alone. So the MPs were naturally concerned. They brought all the kids over. In the military, when your children get in trouble, you get in trouble with your Commander and my youngest excelled in creative ways of getting in trouble. I was like Oh NO not again. I didn't pretend I wasn't home for very long. I thought about pretending the kids weren't mine but the MPs knew my son. I made a snack for all the kids and told the MPs the neighbor's kids could stay with us until the MPs found their parents. But the MPs took them to the station. No one wants to go before their Commander because of their kids' actions. I didn't get in trouble for this one BUT I grounded my kids for a week because they knew they weren't allowed in a house without adults. You're right about it being a sitcom -- I could write many sitcom episodes. (puzzle don't try this at home 2.1 shows them jumping from the window onto the trampoline).

Thanks for the longer version of the story, Sarah. These situations make good puzzle material. I'll bet you have more. I hope you do more for us, as these are unique and fun! :-)

Weighing in many years later -- Great story!!! But a sitcom? Maybe. Would anyone believe it could happen in real life?? I say NO WAY, JOSE! (Except at Sarah's house.)
