Puzzle Description:

She's an associate editor for a major celebrity gossip magazine. She's been working here for seven years, starting in clerical support, moving to senior office assistant and now actually editing, which is what she always wanted to do. However, lately the magazine has taken a seedy turn. Used to be they mostly covered awards shows and red carpet events, celebrity marriages, their babies, stuff like that. Now it seems they just write about "stars gone wild", like this weird new singer, Madame Goo Goo, and that poor actress Lindy Logan. But hey, she gets to write and it pays the bills. Just now a temp named Shirley stops by to chat, which really annoys her because she's pretty busy at the moment.

fabulous!
it looks like a strange pbn puzzle on her computer (you even made it accurate in terms of the clues and what is in the puzzle grid!)
is she really that busy?
haha

Fantastic as usual Linda! How I have missed your puzzles. Love the detail and the story as well! Maybe Jan should hire her to manage this ever growing website we all love.

Really WOW! The images are awesome and very neatly back up the story. The detail is amazing. It was very hard and yet very doable. Thanks for the tremendous imagination and work.

wow - thank you so much for your comments, everyone - i really appreciate it! bugaboo - you mentioned the pbn puzzle on her computer - do you see what i see? it's a lovely purple martin in a yellow birdcage, with a few flowers sprinkled about. Now whoever designed THAT puzzle is really amazing! Thanks again for the kind comments, everyone :-)

What a fun puzzle! Her expression indicates great concentration. I had to laugh when I realized she was concentrating on a pbn puzzle. The color logic at the end was a nice challenge.

Thanks for entertaining us with your wonderful creations, Linda. :-)

I agree with all of the above comments, and would like to add that I don't know how you keep coming up with ideas for your story, but I wondered if you'd ever actually written for submission? You are quite good.

Thank you for many happy hours of solving! (And smiling.)

hi minnie - thank you so much for this comment. basically these people invaded my head sometime in february and i felt compelled to write about their lives. keeps me out of trouble ;-) long ago i did write for submission - i'm a children's author/illustrator who was published in the 1990's. insert shameless plug: "when dinosaurs go visiting" and "when dinosaurs go to school". i did some other types of illustration after that but have been in a loooooong hiatus, which i hope to break some day. i'd like to return to children's books someday. your compliment has made my morning (which started out a little bumpy). thank you kindly :-)

I love the puzzle on her screen, and your description of what it is. Fantastic puzzle and story!

Loved this as I do all of yours. But what is that cash register (?) thing on the wall next to Shirley? I'm baffled. Thanks.

i thought it was a calendar where the first 2 weeks have 6 days and the last 2 weeks have 5 days

That was totally fun! Great detail without being ridiculous. I really enjoy the cup, desk plant, and picture in the cubicle. I'm sure this took a lot of work to design.

Very creative! Fun to do.

Curioso puzzle.
#21: Turd Ferguson (TurdFerguson) on Jul 28, 2020
By luck, the last part I did was the puzzle on the screen, so I used the clues of the puzzle in the puzzle to finish the puzzle within the puzzle that finished the puzzle. What a delight!
