My project this year is to develop a mobile web site for raising awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). My goal is to ask everyone (you) to text message others with this message on your mobile device:

Thanks Teresa. This is a great cause. Luckily, as a recovering alcoholic who doesn't drink, this is one thing I won't have to personally worry about if I have a baby! :) Will pass it along to others, though.

Thanks for participating, everyone. You never know when the message will reach someone who needs to hear it. You could literally save a baby's life, and maybe help a child and family have a healthy outcome.

There is nothing more beautiful than a healthy baby, and nothing more sad than a child who struggles because of a disability that is 100% preventable.

Thanks, Jota and Kai. 9/9 is the official day, but I always say, "Everyday is FASD Awareness Day," because there is always someone somewhere who needs to hear the message. The only way women of childbearing age are going to get it is if everyone around them gets it.

Since "today" still is FASD Awareness Day, I would be so happy if every person who solves this would go and send this text message to 10 of their friends and relatives.
