Lovely image, Kim. Symbolic and poetic in a visual way. And the solve was great fun. You get 5 points from me. :-)

For those who may not know, Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting when Muslims refrain from taking food and water from dawn to dusk. Ramadan Kareem is the greeting heard during this holy month. Kareem means noble, generous, good.

I grew up Catholic in my little world made up mostly of Catholics and "non-Catholics," who were mainly Christians of other faiths, and some Jewish friends. I thought Catholics were the only ones who fasted, until I grew up and enlarged my social circle. Now I have many friends who are Muslim, and I have learned a bit about their culture and beliefs over time.

Here is a link with a little Ramadan humor, plus the White House address at the 2010 celebration of the beginning of Ramadan.
