Topic #204: Eraseable pen for solving puzzles on paper

I enjoy solving these puzzles on paper, but found that pencil lead tends to smudge all over the picture. Harder leads don't give good contrast and the softer leads smudge the most. I've wanted to use a pen, but I make too many mistakes to make that option possible. Now I'm using an erasable pen that erases really well (unlike the earlier erasable pens). It's the Pilot Frixion gel ink erasable pen. I get great contrast and it erases remarkably well. You do have to avoid swiping your hand across a newly drawn square, but only for a few seconds. Downsides: The ink supply doesn't last as long as I'd like, and even though you can open the barrel, refills so far are either hard to find (in the U.S.) or are more expensive than a new pen. Just thought I'd mention this pen in case anyone else was having the same issue with their puzzles getting smudged.
