This is a really neat puzzle. It requires a little guess work on the rattle, but the solution is not hard to find.

Yeah, the solution is unique, but I couldn't do the last bit without some trial and error. Really not much though.
#3: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz) on Jun 23, 2007
Absolutely beautiful picture, I loved it! :)
#4: Robert Kummerfeldt (rmkummerfeldt) on Jun 25, 2007 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Back to that age old debate about the difference between trial-and-error and logically solvable. I was able to use the '3' and '4' on the top two rows to eliminate some squares that had to be blank. This was enough to let me solve the rattle just using line and edge logic. I didn't even have to use the save and restore process, so I would still call this one logically solvable. 95% of this puzzle is very easy - a lot of using the error checker to do the counting for me.

The image is excellent - very good 3-D appearance in a 2-D puzzle. Amazing effect with only 2 colors.

I looked back at this, and decided I agree with Robert. All the reasoning needed to do the last little bit I could do in my head, so I'm going to make a ruling on this one and call it logically solvable.

Awesome image. I too had to guess the rattle, although when I backed up (literally) and looked at the big picture the guessing seemed logical. This was fun Matt- Thank you. Now I need to get some sleep!!

Like Kummerfeldt, I think it's kinda 3-D to look at, but Kummerfeldt... LOL... it's 3 colors. black, white and green ;o).

Thanks Matt :o)

Awesome image!
#9: Arduinna (arduinna) on Jun 22, 2009 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Really uneven difficulty on this one. The first part is extremely easy, and then the top right requires some pretty advanced logic.

Ditto #s 8 & 9.

I like this. I can tell a lot of effort went into making this puzzle. Also, I know it's just a patch of grass, but it looks like the rattle sound is picturized in the staticky black and white part at the top. I love that! It looks like sound waves.
