Puzzle Description:

This is a close-up of an unnamed owl character that a friend of mine draws. In this particular iteration, the little guy is wearing glasses and sporting a turtleneck.

Very cute. I, too, thought teeth at first.

He reminds me of the owl from the children's show Tickety Toc. Good one David.:)

Found to be solvable with deep lookahead by gator.

After the initial line logic, I looked at where the 6 clue could go in column 29 without causing column 28 to be invalid. This forced R25C29-R28C29 to be black. More line logic.

We know that either R24C29 or R30C29 is black. This causes R24C28 to be a dot in either case.

There are a few more dots I can get with advanced logic, but they do not help me get any further. If I look many steps ahead, I can. I'm going to mark this as deep lookahead for now. If someone can detail moves with no more than 2 steps lookahead, I'll be glad to change the rating.

C22-24R23 can’t all be dots or they violate R19. That dots C19R23 and C27R23. (C18R23 and C28R23 were already dots from sneaky LL)

Tough to see. Once I read the story it made sense. Tough solve.

David's idea could be crucial to solve this puzzle. That way it's 'only' a hard moderate lookahead-solvable puzzle.

hard moderate lookahead is where i live my life

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

Thanks David. Changing to moderate.

A Minion playing football

Fun puzzle! I really enjoyed the solve.

@David, how did you come up with your hint in comment #6? Is there a technique to find such locations in seemingly unsolvable puzzles? I'm not sure I could have found it on my own, no matter how much time I stared at the puzzle.
