lol.... i'll have to do it again,i'm not sure, had something to do with getting the bottom, right corner and stairstepping

Not 100% sure if this is logically sound, but I solved the blue by picking a side on the bottom row, and treating it as edge logic. Since I knew R20 columns 2, 5, 15, and 19 had to be blue, I knew marking R20 columns 6 and 14 as blue would create a zigzag pattern. The rest of the blue area then fell into place.

However, I'm not entirely sure whether that is a pure logic conclusion or simply an educated guess.

wombat,,, thanks, i'm busy till tomorrrow afternooon
#7: Gator (Gator) on Jul 22, 2010 [HINT]
Since, technically, you do have to assume something, it would be a guess.

Here is some two-way logic:

Looking at row 20 on the left side, the left 2 clue can be completed with R20C1 or R20C3. So we will be either using the 2 clue in column 1 or the 3 clue in column 3. Notice in both cases that R18C8 will always be blue. You can do the same logic on the right side to make R8C18 blue.

Now look at R20C5. It will be completed with either R20C4 or R20C6. Notice in both cases that R19C6 will always be a dot. The same logic on the right makes R19C15 a dot.

Line logic to finish it out.

Found to be logically solvable by Gator.

Thanks, folks! This was my first attempt at a puzzle. I'm glad it entertained. :0)

i also found it logicaly sovible but i did it diferently than Gator.u i kind of used a mix of two way and edge logic in row 1.
left side: if you look at R1C4 it has to be a dot because when you use two way logic you would have to complete the clue either on R1C3 or R1C4 and witchever one you choose it ends up making row 2 wrong.
right side: same thing with R1C17
you can now use line logic for the rest.

pretty tree.
#15: Norma Dee (norm0908) on May 30, 2013
Yes, it is pretty. After I fiddled with the blue in the bottom corners, the rest fell into place.
#16: Andrew Schulz (LPguy) on Jun 9, 2020 [HINT]
The two-way logic described above is the next level of thinking that I need to embrace. Really clever to read about in the comments and continue forward in the puzzle, but not so easy to decipher in action.
