I'm not the most diligent when it comes to exhausting line logic before jumping to other forms, but I think my use of edge and two-way logic to solve will be required.

I'm stuck. Any help? I've exhausted line and edge logic.
#3: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 25, 2010 [HINT]
I'll rework it when i get a chance so I can be more specific, but for now I remember I was stuck at one point and had one of these situations:

I had a dot placed in a vertical "two" near the middle with a lot of white around it. Either way the other half of the "two" went it resulted in another to it's left. Knowing that there would be a black in one of those two spaces eliminated a whole bunch in that column that kick-started me again. Sorry, more specifics later.
#4: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 27, 2010 [HINT]
i've reworked enough to get to the part that i remembered being a "moving again" break...

Probably already have this:
Line logic C32, then Line logic/project the rightmost/largest numbers in R18-21. Edge logic places eight of the "9" in R1. From that alone you should be able to dot in every remaining space in C19-21 except for four.

Now look closer:
You know the "2"s in C19 and C20 can't both start at the black and go down or it would violate the "1" in R21. That means AT LEAST one of the squares above MUST be black. Your choices are right-only, left-only or both. Right-only violates the "4" in R18. Either of the remaining choices guarantee a black square in C18R19.

From there:
...Can complete C18, which will eventually get your "7" started in R26, which leads to advanced edge logic to place some of the "10" in C6, etc. etc...there are other tricky areas. I'm working on a complete walk-through because I don't like having a puzzle out there that people don't think is solvable by logic alone. It's just too quiet in these comments...usually Gator will have swooped in by now to declare it logically solvable.

It's in my saved pile. I'm already up to where you described, but not much further than that. I'll work on this one again for a little bit.
#6: Gator (Gator) on May 27, 2010 [HINT]
Two way logic (with one move look ahead) on the 2 clue in C29 let's you know that the 1 clue in C28 will either be at R5C28 or R9C28. This also let's you definitely determine that R13C28 is part of the 2 clue and not the 1 clue.

More line logic. Two way logic in R4 with the 2 clue lets you dot most of R5. A little more line logic.

You can then do some more edge logic in R6 to get a few more dots. The rest will solve with line logic.

Found to be logically solvable by Gator.
#8: Gator (Gator) on May 27, 2010 [HINT]
When Jan gets the new ratings system implemented, this one will fall in the "much look ahead" category just based on the sheer amount of advanced logic needed to solve this one.

Nice puzzle!

Thanks Gator. That walk-through was taking for-freakin-ever.
#10: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on May 27, 2010
It is a little strange to me that the difficulty is rated relatively low...all things considered.

In my saved puzzles...figured I should finish it up...well worth the effort. I guessed a lot though.

Solved with logic alone, no guessing required.
