CORRECTION : The hippocampus is a seahorse-shaped brain structure in the temporal lobe, crucial for learning, memory formation (especially converting short-term to long-term), and spatial navigation, and is part of the limbic system.

But also : The scientific genus of seahorses is Hippocampus, from the Ancient Greek words hippos, "horse," and kampos, "sea monster." There's also a section of the human brain called the hippocampus, named for its resemblance to the seahorse.
