I used Edge Logic too, but as I was solving this puzzle I noticed both the clues, and eventually the solution, have 180 degree rotational symmetry. I wonder if there is a way to use that rotational symmetry to help solve this puzzle.

I have not found a good way to use rotational symmetry for solving puzzles.
