#1: Gator (Gator) on Sep 21, 2009 [HINT]

Some edge logic needed.

Found to be logically solvable by Gator.

Straightforward edge logic didn't really help me a lot. I looked at both rows 14 and 15. The 3's in R15 couldn't go in certain spots (Cs 9 and 10 specifically) due to affect it would have on R14.

Then, after solving much of the bottom, I saw the affect on C2 that the top 4 in C1 would have in certain positions.

Fun one!

Another way is to look at column 1. Notice how there are 6 rows (6-11) that are greater than 1. Working the edge logic on this column R1C1, R2C1, R8C1, and R9C1 will all be dots.

After more line logic, use the 5 clue on row 1. In row 1, columns 3-5, 14, and 15 will be dots.

More line logic. I then used column 15. Using the same kind of logic as column 1 (notice rows 7-11), R9C15 will be a dot. The rest solves with line logic.

I did pretty much the same thing, just in a different order.

It looks like he has too many appendages! :-)

You could have passed this ghost off as an octopus if you'd wanted to. In fact, I'm inclined to think it's the ghost of an octopus.

Terrific puzzle. A fun challenge.

I started on what I thought would be an easier puzzle until I saw it was by Gator and thought, Oh crap. Very fun to solve though!

I had great fun solving this one. So slow, but I like how the image appeared pixel by pixel. I thought it was going to be a butterfly or a fairy. Maybe a little ghost fairy?

I was trying to give the sense of a ghost where its form was constantly changing (hard to due on a static image!). The "appendages" are actually trailing wispy strands.

Ditto #12 - I saw the butterfly early on. I had all of Adam's edge logic in #3 and most of Gator's in #4 but spent a lot of time just staring at the screen. I'll admit to coming into the comments and looking at the hints. It helped.

Also, some degree of ditto to Shae in #7.

It's a rare snowflake ghost, I believe...
