Nicely done. Smile logic is always fun to figure out.

You'll notice that I had to rule on the uniqueness of the solution of this puzzle. It seems to give pbnsolve conniptions. Steve Simpson's solver was able to find a solution, but only after a long time. This is the smallest human-solvable puzzle I've seen that stumps the computer solving programs.

I noticed that when I was designing it and used the checker. :)

By the way, you are welcome to rule on your own puzzles.

#2 - I don't believe in psychic connections either. Coincidences happen all the time though.

Thanks all!

This puzzle is one of the ones that I used as a sample puzzle in my Survey of Paint-by-Number Puzzle Solvers as an example of a fairly small, human solvable puzzle, that is never the less difficult for automated solving programs. Most solvers can actually cope with it pretty well, but mine can't.

I wonder if Gator would be willing to give permission to allow this puzzle to be freely redistributed as part of a standard test set for developers of new solving programs.

The attribution and copyright would be retained, though I'm not sure if copyrights in the name of a pseudonym actually have full legal force. They might. Copyright law is pretty liberal.

We must have posted at almost the same time. See your survey thread. :)
