Puzzle Description:

If you defocus your eyes so that the two dots on the top row lie on top of each other, the center image shows a magnifying glass floating above the letter "I".

Wow - that's a prescription for an instant migraine! Love the concept, though. :-)

OK, I was grumbling at the symmetry and all ready to give it a low rating... but a "magic eye" PBN? Cool. Thanks.

"Eye" love these 3-D things. Not just dots, but an actual (albeit simple) picture. Thanks for the image.

I saw the letter "I" closer to me than the magnifying glass. I LOVE magic eye 3D puzzles.

Thanks for your comments. I wanted to see if it could be done in PBN and I hope to try a more detailed image, but I agree they are highly symmetrical. Adam, you can make these images for eyes defocusing outward or inward...this one is for defocusing outward.

If you cross your eyes the images usually come out of the surface, but if you try to look "through" the surface then the image often appears farther away.

I really found the idea interesting, thanks.

This is vague, but just specific enough to be a spoiler.

Wow, I had no idea you could do that with a PBN! Thanks :)

Thanks! I couldn't get my eyes to widen today, so I got out our victorian stereoscope. ( http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Holmes_stereoscope.jpg ) While I was digging through the box after, I found a bunch of 3D slides of our house from the 1950s!

What a great find...good for you, Joe. #6360 is also 3D, if you haven't checked it out. I got hooked on 3D as a kid, looking at Viewmaster reels.
