Thanks, BlackCat. I remember the first and last time I ever left food out while camping. A huge raccoon got into the picnic basket in the middle of the night while we watched from the tent. Our camping trip was a short one, as we returned home the next day, very hungry.

Cute picture. Why did you just watch? Even if you didn't have any guns to shoot them, at least run out there and scare them away. They would have run away.

Oh, we made plenty of noise and scared him off, but not soon enough. By the time we heard him, he was already into the food. We only watched long enough to make sure it was not a skunk, in which case we would have allowed him to take whatever he wanted, not wanting to be subjected to his response to being startled.

A lot of people on camping trips take guns. In fact, I did just 1 week ago. Plus, I wouldn't let some critter ruin my food supply, etc. To each his own.

If she had shot the raccoons, at least she would have had something to eat... ;) Very cute, I'm not sure I can make out what each of the animals are though. I like the checkered cover on the picnic basket.

cute idea! silly us went camping in the height of bear season once. good thing they didn't go for our basket! (or us...)
