...in a galaxy far, far away. I suppose a light saber needs a battery. What do you think?

Totally wonderful! I solved with no guessing and had a great time doing it.#2: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on May 7, 2009 [SPOILER]
officially its a crystal but I guess if I'm not doing my nerd here crystal can be kind of battery rigth??#3: Meg Tayler (rebelcat) on May 7, 2009 [SPOILER]
please chage your title to #33WCP: long time ago...
its the new standard for all entry
When I was a kid I had a Millennium Falcon that made laser noises and flashed red lights. But what I really wanted was a light saber like the one in your picture. Very nice!#4: Shae (shaekin) on May 7, 2009 [SPOILER]
I believe Darth Vader himself would have to use batteries would he not? something has to power all the stuff on his suit. So yes, I think your puzzle should qualify for the weekly contest. :)#5: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on May 7, 2009 [SPOILER]
What's the white arc-type-thing in the upper right corner?#6: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 8, 2009
I like the little fighter spaceship.
I like how the puzzle (especially DV himself) is not symmetrical.
Very, very cool puzzle! Fun to solve, great image.#7: Byrdie (byrdie) on Aug 22, 2009 [SPOILER]
Neat puzzle and I, too, like the asymetrical nature of it. Added some diffuculty to solving it.#8: Diana W (aeris) on Jan 6, 2011 [SPOILER]
For Adam, I'd guess the arc in the upper right corner is the edge of the Death Star, or something like that.
As for the technical question of what a battery is, since it's simply defined as a device for storing energy, I would suppose a crystal that stored energy to power a light saber would be a battery.
I love it! Darth Vader and the ship are amazing, and I love the asymmetry.
