Man: "Have you solved the puzzle titled '134340' yet?"
Woman: "Yes I did! It was the best puzzle I have ever done!"
Man: "Oh Gertrude, let me build you a rainbow."
Woman: "But Aberforth, you know that in the face of every
coward burns a straw dog, right?"

The setting: A second date...


Man: "Did you see Florida rip Oklahoma tonight?"

Woman: (His breath smells like onions.) "No, I was too busy putting my hair up in curlers all evening. Like my new style?"

Man: (OMG, I didn't notice! Even now I still can't tell she has done anything new with it). "Yeah, of course I like it a lot."

Woman: (I bet he didn't even notice; I don't care, as long as he tells me he likes it). "So tell me what you are thinking about right now."

Man: (What did she say? I was too busy thinking about later on tonight). "I'm sorry, the people next to us were talking to loud. Could you repeat that? By the way, you really look great tonight! (wink wink)"

Woman: (Did he really mean that? What could he have meant otherwise? Should I read anything more into that? He has really soft hands. Was he staring at our waitress? Is he nervous? I have butterflies in my stomach. When I think about us one day possibly being married I just melt! Do you think he will help out around the house? How many kids does he want, I wonder... Just think about it... 'Gertrude Abercrombie...' I love the sound of that!) "That's ok. It wasn't important."

Well, Clarabelle, I am glad at least someone dared write what everyone else was thinking but was too afraid to write. :-)

OMG! Thanks, guys. You didn't let me down. I knew you creative types would come up with good ones. Adam, you are really gifted in creative writing (as well as puzzle making).

Ah, this story never really unfolded much more than this. I don't have the same talent you have of creating people and a good storyline for an ongoing series like you have been doing.

I don't think I could possibly add to these conversations. Mine would just be a variation on what was said before.

Him: "I wonder if she'll invite me in, after dinner."
Her: "I bet I'll have time for 2 or 3 more puzzles, after dinner."
