Ha! Excellent. We had that when I was a kid, we thought it was SUCH a big deal.

I recognized it immediately!

Played that game for hours on end as a youngster. My left thumb is still sore.

Robot Chicken did a HILARIOUS bit where two of the bad guys are talking to each other. It went something like:

Oh, they got Joe!
Didn't he have kids?
Yeah, Oh, look the UFO.
Yeah, like he ever does any good. Well, I'm going in.
I got your back!

Hmmm, the puzzle #4420: Alien Invasion was posted the next day. Hopefully, it was a young 'un and not an adult that thought it was a good idea to boost that idea.

There's also the possibility that whoever posted second actually didn't see the first one. Quite a coincidence, but possible.

True enough. It really would be quite a coincidence.

My favorite part of Space Invaders (arcade version) was the pulsing bass sound that sped up, making your heartrate synchronize.

The thin Atari "beeps" didn't quite do the same thing for me.
