Puzzle Description:

giving his heart

Looks like he pulled that sucker right out of his chest. LOL

The picture is nice, but this has at least eight solutions. I blundered on the right one on the fifth try. This really reduces the fun of solving the puzzle.

I think it would be worth doing a bit more editing to make the solution unique. I think if you changed the eyes to look like this:

                  X X
Then that would give them a unique solution and still look OK. It will also be necessary to fiddle a bit with the lower edge of the arm.

I was able to solve it by guessing on my second try, but there are two ways to do each eye, plus there are actually 70 ways to do the arm (no, I didn't find them myself, I wrote an application that solves and enumerates all possible solutions to paint-by-number puzzles), for a total of 2*2*70=280 solutions to this puzzle. Changing the eyes and bottom of the arm as Jan mentioned will reduce it to two solutions, and a single pixel added to the top of the arm (near the "inner elbow", not sure whether that has an actual scientific name) will make it unique.

The "inner elbow" is known as the medial epicondyle (if you are referring to the bony prominence that you can feel on your own elbow).

I thank Jake for the more precise analysis. Clearly more than one dot changes. It really would be worth fixing this puzzle.

Adam, I didn't mean QUITE so scientific :) Basically the "armpit" of the elbow is what I was referring to. not the bone, just the "inside" of the joint.

LOL! Well, you asked. :-)

I tried 4 different solutions before I gave up. Yep, this one is worth fiddling with... please do.
