I also should have titled this "WC #16 An Atypical Christmas Theme," playing off of "bapebyto's" title

Very nice cross. Much much nicer than the one I made. Too bad we don't know when he was really born so we could stop using this pagan ritual.

I think I will have to start ramming my religion down unwilling throats!

Leigh - how about just making a puzzle instead

M2: in the Bible (Luke 1:26) it said that the angel came to Mary in the 6th month to tell her she'd conceive...9 months later would be the spring...I don't know the Jewish calendar but know it's roughly similar (29-30 days/month instead). So, His birth should be closer to when we celebrate Easter, in the Spring, than December.

Some scholars have looked at when John the Baptist was born based on his father's temple service schedule and they say that John, who was 6 months older than Jesus, was born near Passover and that would make Jesus born in September. Since the Bible does not tell us, and it does tell us many other seemingly unnecessary facts, I assume it is not important when Jesus was born. I am one of the few Christians that chooses not to celebrate Christmas due to its pagan history.

Leigh, it's a puzzle, settle down. No one was ramming any religion down your throat.

I'm quite allergic to anything that has to do with religion, but this is a very nice rendering!
