Unfortunately, they will arrive in a plastic packet that you need a pair of scissors to open...

I got reusable zip ties. They're great, and they don't dull your scissors trying to cut them.

Time to invest in twist ties.

Belita, I recently saw a video that showed how *any* ziptie can be loosened and re-used. I wish I could remember the method!

in the big square part, there is a ridged tongue that grips the long strap. If you slide a sharp object between that tongue and the strap, you can slide the strap out.

You mean I spent the extra four bucks for reusable zip ties, when I could have just ruined my husbands pocketknife for free? Dang!

Good news! You're far more likely to ruin your hand when the knife slips than you are to ruin a steel knife.

I'd probably ruin my hand, the knife, and the zip tie in one fell swoop.

I think the solution I saw involved pinching the the head open with a pair of pliers, then pulling out the tail.

Just buy extra zip ties and save your first aid skills for something else.
