I solved the puzzle for #1 but can't figure out the connection. I don't understand #2 at all.

You have the right idea, Jyo. Lollipop, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the 1st and second puzzle in the connections series, or the first and second picture in this puzzle?

For the first one the connection was black!
For the second one it was love!

Is this one Type?

This one is different. It isn't one word that goes with each picture.

You leave (this mortal coil) with the gun, leave the area in your shoes, leaves on a tree, and leave through the door?

That's really good, but it wasn't my thought. Look at comment number 2. Jyo solved it and continued with the sequence.

Belita, my comment at #3 referred to comments #1 and #2. I solved your four images, but I didn't understand Jyo's connections. Still don't. (I like Kristen's take on it at #8, though.)
