When the New Honors subject was announced I jumped in and made a puzzle about Khelif hitting the gal from Italy. Like a host of others I assumed the Khelif was really a guy since there has been so much publicity about guys competing in women's sports. Plus the fact the gal from Italy took two punches and quit in tears after only 46 seconds. Anyway, I deleted the puzzle.

Oof. I've been on a bit of a vigilante mission, setting the record straight with my friends. I'm glad you took the time to read the facts. :)

Imane is from Algeria, where it's illegal to transition to another sex. She was born a girl and has lived as a girl all her life. People are mad at the genetics she was born with, and it's been unfair.

As for the Italian lady, I think I'd quit fighting, too, if someone had just punched me in the nose, twice. I don't care *how* big the person doing the punching was, that hurts! My son clocked me a few times in the nose, with his noggin, and he was an infantweight! :D

Seems Khelif won herself a bronze medal.

Do change the name Norma, this totally qualifies for best/worst in the olympics!
