Ha!

We had a cat named Merlin (the dog was Arthur), who we should have trained to use the toilet. Here’s the story: One night my wife and I were laying in bed when we heard the toilet in our bathroom flush. We looked at each other curiously, and then it happened again… and again… when I finally got up to investigate, I found Merlin standing on his back feet next to the toilet, with his right front paw on the seat and his left paw on the flush lever. He would pull the lever to flush the toilet and then watch with fascination as the water swirled around the bowl, and whenever it stopped swirling, he’d flush it again. We counted a total of twelve times before I finally stopped laughing long enough to close the lid - after all, we needed to sleep so we could go to work the next day!

Thank you Valerie for a fun puzzle that brought back memories of a very special kitty!
