I guess you have to be Jewish to "get it." Sorry. Please don't feel offended that I don't understand or am not familiar with Jewish things/customs/dates, rituals, etc.

I knew the holiday but didn't know the calendar dated back so far. I was guessing then that it starts with the exodus of the Hebrew people out of Egypt, but I was wrong. It's a best estimate of when Adam left Eden. http://articles.latimes.com/1989-09-23/local/me-552_1_jewish-calendar
