Puzzle Description:
It's a gecko, named after the Geico gecko.
#1: Belita (belita) on Nov 23, 2022 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Very nice. It took a lot of edge logic, interior edge logic, and flat out guessing for me.#2: Courtenay Footman (Courtenay) on Nov 26, 2022
No guessing needed. A lot of edge logic, but no guessing.#3: Wombat (wombatilim) on Dec 4, 2022 [HINT]
EL C75#4: Web Paint-By-Number Robot (webpbn) on Dec 5, 2022
C54: If the 1 that's in R5 or R6 goes in R5, it forces the 2 in R6 into C54 as well, so the 1 clue must be in R6 instead.
EL R1 eliminates C64-65 and C71. This doesn't yield any LL so it may not be helpful.
R24: C46-48 are white, otherwise there is a contradiction in the rows above and below.
I can see how the upper-right corner solves with a deep lookahead trace, but I'm not finding any moderate. If I can find a way to logically finish the 19 in C75 this should be LLS, but for right now I'm not seeing any other ways to move forward without guessing.
Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by dbouldin.#5: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Dec 5, 2022 [HINT]
Wish I had tracked my solve because I eventually fought through it using only moderate lookahead. Lots of IEL and LOTS of 2-way logic in this one. Great fun solving!!#6: derby (Derby) on Feb 17, 2023
Agree. It is a fun puzzle, I am not sure why it is called Martin.#7: Wombat (wombatilim) on Mar 30, 2023 [HINT]
Picking up after the moderate I listed, the upper right corner is still unsolved. Currently at 91%.
C68: Whether the 2nd 2 goes into R23 or R25, R24C67 is white. LL.
C68: Whether the 2nd 2 goes into R23 or R25, it will complete C66-67. R26-29 C66 and R26-30 C67 are white. LL.
C72: EL marks R34 white. LL.
R30: If either of C62 or C64 is white, R39-40 C51 are white, and both R30 C62 and C64 would be white. Since these can't both be black, they must both be white. LL.
R24: IEL completes the 8 with C49-52. LL.
R28: If C48 is black it makes R32 invalid, so it must be white. Minimal LL.
R29: IEL marks C55 white. LL.
R29: Placing the 3 in C71-73 makes R30 invalid, so these squares are white.
LL to finish.
