It's a great rendition! What's the book about?

Bill, it's a historical novel set in 1850.
An abolitionist from Pennsylvania has inherited a Virginia plantation. Problems arise that lead to an agonizing decision.

Susan, I am thrilled for you! I have a daughter who writes, but hasn't been published. Is this your first, or are there more? If so, let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only Jansweb gamer that would love to read it/them. Omgoodness! I have goosebumps because I am so happy for you!

Thank you so much for the information, Susan. I'll be reading one of these soon. Any chance you'll be doing something in a bookstore having to do with your book(s)? I ask because in my home town of Iowa City, Iowa there are multiple places that readings, signings etc., take place...always fun and informative. Knowing nothing about your books as yet, I'm super curious about "Scratch Recipes for the Toy Oven," to tell you the truth...that one jingles many bells for me! Lol, I'm in love with the title.

JoDeen, I don't plan any book store events. I've never been to Iowa--would like to see it sometime. I live in New York and haven't gone anywhere since the pandemic started. I will do that, Susan. I'd like to buy some type of easy bake oven for my 8 year old Grand and give it to her for her birthday along with a copy of your book. Do you have any recommendations for an easy bake oven? Do you think I should attempt to find a vintage one that works with light bulbs (harder to come by in this age, the proper light bulbs, I mean, lol)...or do you find that another kind is better? I'm so excited to do this for and with her!

The new Easy-Bake ovens are better. Replacement light bulbs for the old ones are hard to find. Also, I like the rectangular pans used in the new ones. My book has recipes for the old and the new, however. The recipes also work in a toaster oven or even regular oven set at 350. You just need the right size pan. Pans are about $8 on Amazon.

If I was going to get an actual easy bake oven, is there a particular brand, maker, style or model number for which I should look, in your opinion?

JoDeen, Easy-Bake Oven is a brand by Hasbro, and I'd choose that over any other. I think there's still a LaLaLoopsy, but I'm not sure of the pan size or heat level. I don't know about model number, etc., but I looked at Amazon and the offerings are all basically the same except some have more utensils included, an unnecessary expense. Gosh! The prices are way up! I want a a freaking Hasbro Easy-bake Pizza! I put in in the oven when I leave for work. come home 9 hrs later and there's golden-brown melted mozarella. You got any of that?

Kurt, if you did that, I'm afraid you'd come home to a pile of ashes. The Easy-Bake Oven reaches 350 degrees.
There are better pizza recipes in Tiny Bites than what you get with the mixes--even a regular yeast crust. Baking time is 40 minutes.

Kurt, I think you need a combination of a pizza oven and a slow cooker. If that could exist, it would do the trick.
