Wow, a lot of edge logic here (at least for me) made a very interesting solve. I figured what the image would be, but I still wanted to do the edge logic bit.

I enjoyed contrasting this with what I remember of the usual rainbow puzzles that used color. They are two different (and worthwhile) experiences.

Here is my big-picture walkthrough for those that might be stuck:

A starter for those who might be stuck is that each-way logic(?) can be used on R1C21/22 (dots) as either C19 or C22 would have to make a 1 in row 2. C30R1 also has to be a dot, so the 10 starts at C11R1.

Then I tinkered with C34 and C35 and placing the second 5 in row 20 was a big help. R14C10 had to be a dot, too, on edge-ish logic.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by dbouldin.

Here are the non-line-logic steps I took:

- EL completely places the 10 in R1
- whether C10R15 or C10R18 is black, C11R18 is a dot.

A very nice tricky puzzle. I started it last night, looked at it a bit this morning and finished it this afternoon. Some of the hints looked familiar, but I thought there was more look-ahead than that.
I have to admit I thought it was going to be a green army worm like we sometimes get. There weren't too many this year.

It also looks a bit like a caterpillar. Oddly, I did have to guess a couple of times, even after using edge logic

Thanks Karen. Had me guessing until the end. I saw the rainbow forming, but the cloud looked like a head. So i started thinking maybe turkey? Then maybe a small animal or vehicle going thru a tunnel. So i was all over the place lol
