#1: Paula (fuzziebear3) on Jun 22, 2021

steam locomotive
#2: Belita (belita) on Jun 22, 2021
Sorry Paula. Not even close.
#3: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jun 22, 2021 [SPOILER]
it looks like a meat grinder.

Processing soylent green, obviously :)
#4: Belita (belita) on Jun 22, 2021
You're close. But not on the soylent green.
#5: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Jun 22, 2021
I'd say coffee grinder, but you said it is enormous. I've never seen a giant coffee grinder, so I'm gonna say I think it grinds something else.
#6: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Jun 23, 2021
I know - it's a huge machine that makes a lot of noise!

What do I win?
#7: Belita (belita) on Jun 23, 2021
It grinds, smashes and pulverizes. And I'm guessing does make plenty of noise.
#8: Jota (jota) on Jun 23, 2021
For rocks?
#9: besmirched tea (Besmirched Tea) on Jun 23, 2021 [SPOILER]
That is how they recycle plastic; a big grinder with a hopper on top.
#10: Belita (belita) on Jun 23, 2021
Hint: it produces something to drink.
#11: Spot (Pspaughtamus) on Jun 23, 2021 [SPOILER]
It kinda looks like the grinder for my family's old cider press. The apples would be dumped into the hopper at the top.
#12: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Jun 23, 2021
Oooo, I think Juli's onto something. A cider press would definitely be bigger than a coffee grinder, but serve a relatively similar function. Also, it fits Belita's clues about grinding, smashing, and pulverizing to make a drink. Until it is proved wrong, I'm jumping on with Juli for the cider press.

Yes, you are right. It's a cider press. But it was huge, so it was definitely for commercial use.
