Puzzle Description:

It happens every time I come home from the store- Lightning helps me unpack! (The green things are pears.)

I hope Lightning doesn't end up in the stew pot! My sister once had a cat whose name was Emergency Food! (college years)

I don't think I guessed... the right lower corner was following the pattern. If you made that lower right square blue-maybe that would eliminate any need for guessing.

Maybe I overlooked something accidentally.

I think following the pattern instead of the numbers would be guessing. I'm hoping for a fix so I can finish this one...

Great idea for this weeks challenge, I love it, fun to solve too! :)

I solved it by following the blue pattern in the lower right corner.

Excellent idea Tonia! I had long ago tried a puzzle (that I gave up on posting) of the same image!

Funny idea, good image and fun.
Thanks and good luck. :-)

Lol Beth on Emergency Food!

I'm inclined to say that the last two diagonals in the right corner need to be guessed...but I still feel like there *ought* to be a logical procedure for handling these cases. The right answer is so obvious, it's just not obvious that it is the only answer, and I feel like if you are filling in something that you aren't sure is the only answer, then you are guessing.

I too felt that I just "guessed because of the pattern. Making the right bottom corner blue might eliminate the guesswork, but then it'd throw off the pattern.
lol on Beth's sister's cat and Lightning.

If you focus on the bottom row, you have the clues "2 2" left. The left 2 can go anywhere in columns 29-32. No matter where that 2 clue gets placed, R18C30 will be a dot. It solves out nicely from there.

Another way to think about this is using edge logic. Again if you focus on the bottom row, try to put the left 2 clue in columns 31 and 32. If you look 1 more ahead, you will see that row 18 will be invalid. Now you know the left clue can only go in 29-31 instead of 29-32. This allows you to fill in R20C30. It will solve out normally from there.

So I have to go with no guessing required for this one.

Didn't understand the picture at first because I don't want to see the titles until I have it solved...but the explanation solved the mystery. Nice puzzle!
