Mayonaisse have seen the glory...

Good pun, but that picture is Miracle Whip, and folks on both sides of the debate would take offense at them being confused for each other. (Team Miracle Whip here)
#3: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Feb 23, 2021 [SPOILER]
It mayonnaise you that some of us don't like Miracle Whip
#4: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 23, 2021
oh brian...oh no
#5: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 23, 2021 [SPOILER]
You also have to have a thick Southern accent, to pronounce it my'nize :)
#6: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Feb 23, 2021 [SPOILER]
Ah, thank you, Kristen. Before your pronunciation guide, I was planning on asking what the play-on-words seems to be. I couldn't manipulate the pronunciation to hear anything that made any sense. It's supposed to sound like, "Mine eyes have seen the glory."? Yes? If not, I still have no clue.

By the way, I don't much care for either miracle whip or mayonnaise, but they both have their uses for different recipes. I seldom use them as a sandwich spread, but potato salad and macaroni salad require different tastes to be right.

Team Mayonnaise, here. MW Never!
#8: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 24, 2021 [SPOILER]
That's it, AG! Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord, the first line of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Several of my Louisiana in-laws call it my'nize.

I used to love Miracle Whip, but my wife hates it so bad that I can't have it in the house, so I haven't had it in over 25 years. That's 25 years of bland sandwiches! (not a mustard fan - to me, mustard is only useful for hiding the taste of cheap meat like hot dogs and bologna).
I thought the MW image looked much more fun than my first stab, which was a sad looking b/w jar that just said "Mayo"

Nowadays, because of the pandemic, my wife has to rinse all of our food before we can eat it.
Lovely woman; terrible sandwiches.
#10: Koreen (mom24plus) on Feb 25, 2021
LOL, BT. And we forgive you for the MW, as it was in our best interest to have a less "sad" puzzle.
#11: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Feb 25, 2021
I like them both equally. I am grateful to anyone who wants to feed me. My friends along the Gulf pronounce mayonnaise as "my-nize".
#12: Gary Webster (glwebste) on Feb 27, 2021 [SPOILER]
I have to say, much of this is regional. My wife is from rural Virginia, and is a full-on Mayonnaise person. So much so, in fact, that she prefers mayonnaise on her ... hamburgers! I grew up with MW, and now realize that good mayo is really better than MW. I use mayo on sandwiches (NOT burgers!) if I want to taste the other components of the sandwich. If it's bland, give me mustard!
#13: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Feb 27, 2021
Mayo is lovely on a burger, along with lettuce, tomato, cheese, et al.
#14: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Feb 27, 2021
second on the mayo on burger...make a base of it to lay the pickles in and drizzle the mustard over that. ketchup and tomato on the other side and of course the cheese goes right next to the meat for meltiness
