I like Biden's portrait! It's the first face mask PBN portrait I can think of.

The danger to democracy prides himself on his creation of nicknames. I think he missed the mark with "sleepy Joe." There's that famous curse, "May you live in interesting times." If "sleepy Joe" makes politics snooze-worthy, thank goodness for that.

At one point I thought we agreed if a puzzle were political it was to be labeled as such. With no warning I thought this was a puzzles about friends wearing face masks. If I had known it was political I would not have solved it.

The following is a political statement.


Donald Trump has criminally botched the protection of the American people so badly, that he should be considered one of the greatest mass murderers of all time. Now he is trying to destroy our democracy by subverting the will of the American people. I don't understand how anyone can stand by this psychopath.

Norma, it's about politics, but it does not take sides. Sorry you feel that way. I've added (political but neutral) to the title.

I agree with you solidly, Brian. I am looking forward to intelligent times once again in our White House...and full sentences...and an end to non stop lies...lies that are so tissue thin a third grader can see through them. I am also looking forward to an end to this childish name calling.

The following is a politically neutral statement.

American politics is now tricky, because the two sides get their "news" from completely different sources.

So how does one know if they are listening to truth or lies?
Ask anyone from either side, and they'll tell you that their news is obviously the truth, and the other team's news is clearly made up bs.

Which side are you on? Doesn't matter, because I know you think that the other side is idiots following idiots.

This whole time that you thought you were right?
Roughly 50 percent chance you aren't, judging by the vote tally.
Or, if you're an optimist, there's also 50 percent chance you're right.

Thanks go to social media for telling each and every person that they are right and the other side is wrong.

Call me crazy, but I rather think that "Danger to democracy" is taking sides. ;)

Kristen, I think Brian might be thinking the two are merely trading nicknames. trump calls Biden, "Sleepy Joe." Biden returns the favor with a nicely alliterative nickname of his own for the president, "Danger to Democracy." ;)

I recently read "Why We're Polarized" by Ezra Klein. It doesn't summarize into a neat sound bite, but I thought it was a really worthwhile book, about how our political system turned into the mess that it is today, and how things might go in the future. It left me feeling better-informed.

I'll give it a try, let's hope I do feel better informed.

I enjoyed the puzzle and the commentary. Besmirched Tea - spot-on. It takes work to be informed, and, frankly, it takes work to be open-minded. Consuming a small number of news sources doesn't cut it, and I think social media has made things worse more than it has made things better.

Politics aside, I think this is a really impressive rendition of both candidates in pixel form. For 2020 and, yes, 2024.
