peek at solution solve puzzle
quality: difficulty: solvability: line & color logic only
Puzzle Description:
Uranium, with 92 electrons (and protons, which are densely packed into the nucleus. You'll have to take my word on this).
#1: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 19, 2020 [SPOILER]
The elements start to get a bit unwieldy, with larger atomic numbers. Uranium has 7 bands of electrons: from the inside out, the bands contain 2, 8, 18, 32, 21, 9, and 2 electrons. Each one is green. I counted a bunch of times, to make sure I had the correct number in each band. :)#2: Lollipop (lollipop) on Oct 19, 2020
I found this quite a challenge to solve, with a gratifying image and interesting narrative as a reward. Thanks, Kristen.#3: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 20, 2020
I went back and shifted a few electrons, and thickened a few bands. The checker *says* it's solvable, so I hoped it wouldn't be TOO bad. :)#4: Jota (jota) on Oct 20, 2020
What? No smile to finish?#5: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 20, 2020
I'm sure there's an instance of smile logic in there, somewhere. :)#6: Kathy Roth (clyde) on Oct 21, 2020
And I didn't want to make the image even BIGGER. :)
OMG, that was crazy to solve. Now let's have Neptunium!#7: besmirched tea (Besmirched Tea) on Oct 21, 2020 [SPOILER]
You couldn't wait for Squish to get thru 88 more to get to this one? Thunder stealer! :)#8: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Oct 21, 2020
I know. I'm so ashamed. ;)#9: Julio Parra (Julio Parra) on Oct 28, 2020
Muy original. Me ha gustado.#10: Gus Haeckel (ghaeckel) on Oct 27, 2021
Line and color solvable, but grueling. And started to hurt my brain when I looked at the whole puzzle after about 2/3 through. Still kinda fun to solve.#11: Gator (gator) on Apr 28, 2022 [SPOILER]
I got a big smile on my face when I started solving this thinking this would be an orbital diagram of an atom. 3rd band has 20 instead of 18 though. I'm not sure if that is a result of the shifting of electrons, but all of the other bands are accurate.#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 30, 2022
Great solve!
Drat! Well, I'm not changing it now! :)#13: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Aug 5, 2022
solvable. needs a lot of patience. nice.
