One way would be to look at R9 and imagine that the 2 1 clues go in C14 and C16. This forces R8-9C15 to be dots making C15 invalid. So R9C18 has to be black. LL to finish.

I went back and solved it again and indeed it does require advanced logic to finish it.
After LL, I used smile logic on the 3 in c14 - it must go in r6-8 or there wouldn't be room for the 1s in c15.#11: Gator (gator) on Oct 8, 2020
