The title is a clue to the subject using cryptic crossword clue rules. This one doesn't tell you the length of the answer since the picture gives you an additional clue.

Every cryptic clue is made up of two parts; a definition, and a literal description of the answer using wordplay. They can be in either order (though not intertwined) and there is no separation between them.

Marilyn Monroe? Very, very tough puzzle and I did guess in several places.

I'll try anyway, AG. The letters in "brakeman or" anagram to "Norma Baker", which was the birth name of Marilyn Monroe (actor). "Confused" tells you that "brakeman or" needs to be rearranged.

Her birth name was Norma Jeane Mortenson. She married John Baker at age 15. ^_^

While several others obviously knew who it was, Bill is the first to spell it out.

We probably have Andy Warhol to credit, for our ability to recognize her face in an extremely graphic form. ^_^
