Thanks, stevieb. Bottle rockets were very popular in my neighborhood last night, so I stayed up and worked on this puzzle instead of trying to sleep. It's only one night (or maybe a few nights), so I can deal with it.

Luckily, my dog is pretty chill, when it comes to fireworks.

We are lucky, Kristen. We have two rescue dogs, both of which are, thankfully, also chill. In the past, with other dogs, we were not so lucky, and when I mentioned it to people who were setting off (actually illegal) fireworks, they didn't care.

Thanks for your comments. I hadn't thought about how stressful the fireworks could be for dogs.

Fireworks are actually very stressful for wildlife also. Birds and other wildlife can become so stressed and disoriented that they leave their nests and young behind.

Took me awhile to see the puzzle, even though you gave us the clue. I kept thinking the Zs were 2s.
