Puzzle Description:

Derpy close-up of a llama's face

#1: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 9, 2019 [SPOILER]

There is a delightful new children's book, called Llama Destroys the World, and the titular llama (inexplicably) says "Dat!" throughout. I was going to call the puzzle "Derp", but I didn't want it to be obvious early-on that it would be a goofy face.

Maybe he reminds them (the raters) too much of Jar Jar, or an Ewok. Who knows? ;)

Awesome puzzle to solve Kristen, very fun, and cute Llama too! :D Love it!

Oh my goodness, while I was solving it I was sure that it was a lady with a lot of makeup -- until the very end, when it wasn't.

My kids taught me to use the word "derp." Then later on they told me that only little kids say "derp" and that I should stop. :-S

Anyway, it made me happy to know that I'm not the only person who is derpy enough to use the word derpy. :)

I literally just derped at my daughter less than five minutes ago. But then she grew up with "derp" and "woot" and such. We're stuck in a time bubble as we're now all "old" (-- she's 33 :P ).
#12: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 13, 2019
It is *totally* uncool for parents to say "derp". (And obviously, I was a child of the 80s, like, totally.)

Although I've used "true dat" occasionally, I have never heard of "derp."

Sooooo...if I think what someone is saying is meaningless, do I roll my eyes and say, "Derp, derp, derp..." at them? Or does one just offhandedly offer a single "derp" to effectively communicate disdain? lol

Nice llama and fun puzzle, Kristen!

It looks like Quasimoto from The Hunchback of Notre Dame from the black and white movie version.

Llamas do pretty much look like that though. Thanks for teaching me something new.

The way we use "derp" is as an interjection, meaning somewhere between "D'oh!" and "I've had a brain fart." It can also be used as a noun meaning someone who derps a lot.

There is also the reduplicative "herp, derp" for when you're really derping.

derp derply derped a derpious derpiment
