I agree ... I kept expecting the color to modify toward orange. Tis the season for pumpkins too!

I saw a comment recently that said "no white - no puzzle".
Since the actual image had no white in it, does that apply?

No, because there is logic involved to figure out where the colored part goes. This is a fairly easy puzzle, but there is some puzzling involved. :)
