Puzzle Description:

Sorry for the downer folks, but I thought that some of you might want an update as to the story of our family. Let,s not focus however on the tragic end, but on the bright future ahead. Many of you know about the breaking up of our family and then my girls being returned to me. Well my wife has fallen further to the evil of drug use and left her 17 year old son alone at what was the family home. I took him into our home to be with his sisters. Consequently the family home was then abandoned and was ransaked and set on fire. This puzzle illustrates what is left standing. The good news is that now I can focus on the welfare of these wonderful children and they now have a new start with no fighting parents and no drug use in their home. The future looks bright for these little ones and we pray for salvation and mercy for their mother. If many of you feel that this puzzle is inappropriate, please say so and I will remove it. I love my WEBPBN family and I wish you all the best.

Oh no...so sorry....:(...

Gosh, Aldege...I'll keep you all in my prayers...but it sounds as if everything is better and more stable this way. I can't recall the names of the boys, but what happened with the other one? I hope he is doing well also.
#4: Aldege Cholette (rogue) on Sep 28, 2019
Thank you everyone. Yes JoDeen things are better and more stable this way. Time is a great healer. the girls don't mention their mom much anymore and they don't seem to harbour bad feelings about her. They now seem to understand that sometimes things happen in life that can make a person make bad choices. They also have seen first hand that doing drugs can ruin families and lives. The other boy is AJ and he decided to live in Ontario with his aunt since last Christmas.

Whoah, there is so much here for someone who just discovered the site. I don't know what to say.

My initial comment was that I did some lookahead on c1r5 (c2r1-2 also works) when I ran out of hints and went from there, but it seems relatively insignificant.

May you all continue to heal.

Aldege, you always look forward... good on you! Your children are in good hands.
#8: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Sep 28, 2019
Dear Aldege, although I only know you and your children from this site, you continue to be an inspiration to me. My family prays for yours.

I am amazed that you can turn even your most devastating scenes into puzzles, as you are turning your children's experiences into a home of hope. It seems to me you have a LOT left standing. I am grateful for all your communities of support during such challenging times.

No need to remove the puzzle. I was kinda wondering how things were going. I got my answer and a puzzle. Win/win. Much love and prayers for you and yours.
#11: Susan Eberhardt (susaneber) on Sep 28, 2019
The puzzle is not inappropriate. I hope creating puzzles and talking about your difficulties with us are helpful to you.
#12: Aldege Cholette (rogue) on Sep 29, 2019
Thank you everyone for your comments and kind words. It's strange how you say that I have been an inspiration, when through all these years of being with you all, it is I who has been inspired by all of you. What a great family we have here. To know that I have the love and support from people from many parts of the world through this site, I find amazing. Continued thanks to Jan(may he rest in peace) and Valerie for their hard work and dedication to this site. Andrew, this may be a lot to absorb for someone new to this site, but God willing you will want to remain with this WEBPBN family. Not only will you get to enjoy solving and creating puzzles, but you will come to know many friends here and hopefully you will learn as I have learned that there are still wonderful, caring people in this world and together we gain strength by encouraging one another. WOW, does that ever sound flowery or what.LOL. but I earnestly mean every word of it. Thanks gang, I love you all and the girls say hi to all their aunties and uncles.

Glad for the update, Aldege...and happy to know AJ is ok. Although the children don't talk about their mom much, it's important that they don't hear or think only negative things about her. They know that she is a part of them and will translate that to mean part of them is whatever they hear positive or negative about her from those around them. You have a big job, Aldege...good thing you have as big a heart to match...we're all rooting for you!
#14: Aldege Cholette (rogue) on Sep 29, 2019
Thanks JoDeen.

OH, Aldege, this has got to be a rough transition for you and the girls, but especially for AJ. I can't imagine how much pain he feels. It's not easy being a teen, and it's even harder being a teen in these circumstances. I'm so glad you were able to take him in, with your big, generous, loving heart. I pray you all get the help you need to adjust and continue along on this journey. God bless you.

Will you be sure that AJ gets some kind of grief counseling? I know his mom is alive, but she is "gone" for all practical purposes, and now he has lost his house too. Hugs to you all.

Thank you Teresa for your love and support and prayers. Actually it is JD the older boy that has come to be with us. This is difficult for him, however in many ways this is a blessing also. When he was with his mother, because of her state of mind she relied on JD for things that were not right for any teenager to have thrown upon them. Now he does not have to deal with those things and now he can concentrate on his education and his own well being. He now has the ability to see friends daily and there is no reason for him to miss school or be late because we live but a stones throw from his school. I have arranged for counselling for him and I have taken him for his doctor appointments, dentist appointments and soon eye appointment. I have been bringing him to church on Sundays and have set him up with contacts through our church for employment in the summer and I am supplying him with a shovel to use to shovel snow off of driveways of homes that seniors live in to earn money this coming winter. I will do all I can to help him graduate from high school and I set him up a long time ago with an RESP and RDSP so that he will have money to go to college if he so desires. This is far more than I have done for my own first two children, however all praise is to the Lord, for I am a different man now, than I was then. He will always love his mother as he should and I try to encourage him to understand what drugs can do to ruin lives and cause people to make wrong choices. Unfortunately, he also got into drug use while with his mom and I pray God will help me to get through to him about the consequences of drug abuse.

Thx Teresa, but all praise and glory are to God. He guides me.
#19: Lollipop (lollipop) on Oct 7, 2019
Just caught up with this puzzle and your most recent story, Aldège. The dark slope was in the past, and now we see the continuing story in the bright futures of your girls, whom this community has loved since they were born. Best of luck with JD. Keep us posted; we care.

Thank you Lollipop. I am amazed when I think back to when we announced that Niki was pregnant with Destyny, and how we received so much love and support from all who are in our WEBPBN family. A lot of time has passed and a lot of puzzles have been created and shared amongst us. I would like to take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate all the love and support that all of you have shown for my family. It has been wonderful to have shared all the up's and down's, and to have been able to tell about my life adventures to the world in puzzle form. God Bless you all.
