Puzzle Description:

Johnny 5 (from the movie Short Circuit)

#1: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 16, 2008 [SPOILER]

Awesome puzzle. I love this movie. So fun! Good job. :D
#2: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 16, 2008
me too, he has such a cute personality
nice puzzle :)
#3: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 16, 2008
Thanks!
#4: Minnie Fuerstnau (m.fuerstnau) on Aug 17, 2008 [SPOILER]
My sons loved this movie- good job! But I must ask, what is the connection with the title? Thanks.
#5: Meg Tayler (rebelcat) on Aug 17, 2008 [SPOILER]
I'm wondering what the connection to the title is, too. Because he looks like a cute robot, but I absolutely loathe MSG. It gives me killer migraines, and manufacturers hide it in *everything* these days - soups, salad dressings, meat snacks, peanut snacks, chips, etc... They also call it by tricky names like "hydrolyzed soy protein" and "autolyzed yeast extract". Good, challenging puzzle, though! Maybe he uses those treads to run over my brain... ;-)
#6: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 17, 2008
meg..I didn't know that (maybe that's why I have such killer headaches all the time)
#7: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 17, 2008 [SPOILER]
as far as the title..I believe it is in the script
#8: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 17, 2008 [SPOILER]
In the movie, Johnny 5 is reading the ingredients on a can of soup (I believe) one of which, as expected, is the title of this puzzle. I figured only die hard Short Circuit fans would make the connection. The reason it is funny is because of his voice and the way he reads it out loud in the movie.
#9: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Aug 17, 2008
YAY..I got it right :)
#10: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 17, 2008
I remember the line. Very funny. :D
#11: Arduinna (arduinna) on Aug 18, 2008
The name reminded me of an Animaniacs song. I have a sing-along VHS.
#12: Jane Doe (telly) on Aug 18, 2008
I loved the animaniacs. :D
#13: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 18, 2008 [SPOILER]
Cute. I don't remember the movie, although I must've seen it when I was very young.
#14: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 18, 2008
Thanks! It was fun.
#15: Ed Donahue (edzoid) on Aug 19, 2008
That may have been the hardest puzzle (of 800+ so far) that I've solved. Still had to guess a little at the end (on the left-middle), though maybe I missed something. Tough!!
#16: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 19, 2008
I intended it to be tough. Thanks for that comment.
#17: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 19, 2008
So you are also Monkeyboy?
#18: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 19, 2008
Yes, didn't you know that?
#19: Bionerd (nieboo) on Aug 20, 2008
no. Should I have? I guess you followed the monkey theme...
#20: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 20, 2008
Many people on here know that. I assumed you did, as well. Sorry.

#22: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Aug 26, 2008
this could be in WC#1

if you don't understand go check Adam's #21 comment
#23: Gypso (Gypso) on Aug 26, 2008 [SPOILER]
I was thinking the same thing Sylvain. This puzzle should have been entered in your new contest!

Adam, I've heard of the movie but *wince* I've never seen it. I had to call in reinforcement (youngest son) to judge the quality of the subject.
"That's REALLY good actually" got you an excellent quality marking!
Thanks for the puzzle.
#24: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 27, 2008
Thank you!
#25: Arduinna (arduinna) on Aug 27, 2008
I already did mine a few weeks ago too. The "Knife Man" one. Though, that wasn't my best puzzle.
#26: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 27, 2008
Try another one, then. The more the merrier!
#27: Arduinna (arduinna) on Aug 27, 2008

#30: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Aug 27, 2008
Yes, I read that. It might not matter if we don't get people to enter. Oh well. Maybe we will get 2 or 3 entries.
#31: Jota (Jota) on Oct 31, 2008
This could be the WC # 10 entry .... or not ? (JK)
#32: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Nov 1, 2008
LOL
#33: Jane Doe (telly) on Nov 1, 2008
funny. :)
#34: Diana W (aeris) on Mar 27, 2010 [HINT] [SPOILER]
This was so hard! I thought I was completely stuck, but I kept plugging away and looking for new ways to use edge logic and finally got it without guessing. I really don't know what the point is of a puzzle that requires guessing, so I'm glad that I didn't have to for this one. I remember loving the movie when I was young, and this really looks like him. Great job!
#35: Kath Ballard (kittykat) on Jul 25, 2010
Awesome!
#36: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Aug 3, 2010
thanks
#37: BBrns (pdgaspam) on Oct 28, 2010 [SPOILER]
I had to restart this one five times before I finally finished it. Very nice, though! I didn't get the title clue - I kept thinking that this would be Wall-E.
#38: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Nov 21, 2010
Thank you all.
#39: Judy Baumann (judybee) on May 30, 2011
Extremely difficult. But I finally made it. I don't think I guessed any. It's a wierd looking little guy. Not familiar with the movie.
#40: Julia Stanfield (stanfield.julia) on May 4, 2012
The top of the puzzle reminded me of John Cusack in "Say Anything" http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lx0631Oese1qgwfin.jpg
#41: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on May 4, 2012
Ok.
#42: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Sep 2, 2016
I love the image but don't understand the title.
#43: Vaggelis Kamaris (evag7651) on Oct 11, 2016
solved again. no guessing needed. relatively easy.
#44: Velma Warren (Shiro) on Apr 14, 2019
Loved the image and the source. Very tough puzzle. Wound up guessing a lot because I was getting tired of it.
#45: AM (adrian) on Jan 20, 2021
Used logic only, no guessing required.
#46: Car Geis (cgeisler) on Sep 27, 2021
I'll count this as one of my favourites. Figured out the subject early on, but still a lot of work to complete it
